DK JOHN THORBUN WILLIAMSON FOUNDER OF WILLIAMSON DIAMONDS LIMITED

Dk Johns Williamson was born in 1907 in Montford Quebec.Armed with bachelor's master's and Ph.D. degrees in Geology he strted his career in South africa.In 1940 he discoverd the diamond-bearing kimberite pipe at Mwadui-Mine and established the Williamson Diamond Mine .By the time of his death in 1958 he was one of the richest men in the world.

Although John T.Willimaosn was portryed as secretive and a womanizer, he was never married.His three siblings inherited the mine and sold it immediately to the Partnership De Beers Group and the Government of United Republic of Tanzania by then it was Tanganyika.
